Join us for a cooking presentation with chef Claudia, just in time for the holidays.
Chef Claudia (La Chata SF) has been working over 15 years in San Francisco in catering, cafes, and small restaurants in all areas of hospitality. Often simultaneously working as a front of house manager and in kitchens. Soon she dipped her toe into the entrepreneurial world of cooking with selling cookies and doughs, producing popups, and personal catering. During these experiences, she found that cooking homemade Mexican-American food, inspired by recipes from her mother and travels in Mexico, is what most resonated with her and her guests. As a 1st generation Mexican-American, she hopes to inspire others to be inspired by recipes from Mexico and beyond, celebrating cultures in their food and learning to taste and adjust the recipes they read to their palettes.
These days you can find her most Fridays at 6pm on her Instagram @foraged.experiences cooking through fun recipes and techniques. Her advice is to read multiple recipes before starting, and to use the recipe as a guideline - not the final word. Tastes, ingredients, and environment all change place to place and affect how you cook - trust your skills, everything is adjustable.
When not traveling or doing food related crafts, you can find her on a long walk with her pup Carmela, exploring SF’s nooks & crannies.
