Whittier Public Library T.A.B Teen Advisory Board earn volunteer hours while helping the library develop teen programs and services click here to become a TAB member

Teens! Want to help us plan programs, develop new teen services, and advise on new library materials that YOU want? All while earning volunteer hours? If so, it sounds like our new Teen Advisory Board is right for you.
 
You must submit an application and Parent/Guardian permission form before you may begin volunteering.  T.A.B. Applications and Parent/Guardian Emergency Contact forms can also be found at the Reference Desk at the Central Library and the  Whittwood Branch Library. Open to all high school students. Once your forms have been submitted you may attend your first meeting. Check the Events Calendar here for information about the next meeting. We hope to see you there!

This summer the Whittier Public Library-Central will be offering free meals to all children 18 years and younger. It is sponsored by the Whittier Union High School District through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and supported by the California State Library and the California Library Association.

  • There is no sign-up, application or income verification needed.
  • Meals are offered to all children on a first come, first served basis.

The USDA’s Summer Food Service Program is a federally-funded, state administered program. The SFSP reimburses providers who serve free healthy meals to children and teens in low-income areas during the summer months when schools is not in session. In California, the program is administered by the California Department of Education.
