Whittier Public Library T.A.B Teen Advisory Board earn volunteer hours while helping the library develop teen programs and services click here to become a TAB member

Teens! Want to help us plan programs, develop new teen services, and advise on new library materials that YOU want? All while earning volunteer hours? If so, it sounds like our new Teen Advisory Board is right for you.
 
You must submit an application and Parent/Guardian permission form before you may begin volunteering.  T.A.B. Applications and Parent/Guardian Emergency Contact forms can also be found at the Reference Desk at the Central Library and the  Whittwood Branch Library. Open to all high school students. Once your forms have been submitted you may attend your first meeting. Check the Events Calendar here for information about the next meeting. We hope to see you there!

Hope & Justice Art contest for Teens

  • Date: 04/01/2023  (all day)

Enter our teen art contest and get a chance to win up to $300 in Amazon gift cards! Paint, write, or sing about changes you hope to see in yourself or your community regarding mental health and the acceptance of young people experiencing a mental health challenge. The lime green ribbon symbolizes mental health and should be creatively incorporated into your submission! The deadline to submit your pieces is May 15, 2023.

Formats:

  • Original music (3 minutes or less)
  • Poem
  • Short video, animation, or TikTok (15-seconds or less)
    • Use the hashtag #takeaction4mh if TikTok submission
  • Art Piece
    • Incorporate the lime green symbol in a creative way
    • Submit as a jpg or png file 

Please complete this release form  before submitting your work. This is submitted electronically and needs to be signed by a parent/guardian if youth are under the age of 18.

  • In the field box for School/Organization name, please put Whittier Public Library.

The library will have an art show to display all entries, so please also submit your pieces to whittierlibraryteens@gmail.com or drop off your pieces at either location to be displayed.
