Curbside Holds Pick-Up Services, Place Items on hold with your library card and pick up when ready! Now Available image of car

 

The Whittier Public Library offers curbside pickup of library materials on hold at both the Central Library and the Whittwood Branch Library. The Curbside program is available Monday -Saturday 10am - 4pm. Patrons can return items in the book drop at the Central Library and Whittwood Branch Library book drop 24/7.

Patrons can place a hold via Whittierlibrary.org as normal or call, once our staff fills the hold, the patron will be notified and provided with directions to come to the library to pick up their items. 

Materials picked up curbside will be checked out to patrons for 3 weeks.

How does curbside pick-up work?

 Patrons will be notified by email or phone that their items on hold are available for pickup.

1.  Upon notification, the patron will schedule a pickup day/time:

              Central and Whittwood Branch Library               

              Monday-Friday  10:00 am. - 4:00 p.m.

 

2.   At the scheduled pickup time, the patron will park on the designated curbside parking spot, call the number listed when you arrive, remain in your vehicle and a staff member will bring your items to your trunk or you may choose to pick up your items from a table. Items will be checked out and placed in a bag for your convenience. 

Limit 4 item holds per day

Materials picked up for curbside will be checked out to patrons for 3 weeks.

What are the days and hours for Curbside pick-up?

 Curbside pickup at both libraries will be:

          Monday -  Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 

What happens if I was scheduled for curbside pickup, but I missed my window?

Any items not picked up during the pre-scheduled pickup window will be placed back into circulation.


What should I do if I have a question regarding my curbside pickup?

What should I do if I have mobility issues and I cannot pick up my materials at the curb?

A service number will be provided to patrons scheduled for pickup. Staff assistance will be provided to those who need help.

 

How do I return items?

Patrons can return library materials in the library book drop 24/7.

 

How do I place an item on hold?

Place your hold on library materials on the Whittier Public Library website.

•          Log in to www.whittierlibrary.org using your library card account  

•          Click on Catalog (link to catalog)

•          Search for your item in the Catalog

•          Select Place a hold.

 

How can I find my library card number?

If you are able to place a hold on our Catalog, you can retrieve your library card number on the "Account Settings" page. For assistance, call  562-567-9900 or 562-567-9950.

 

My library card is expired this month. Can I still put a hold on items?

Please call either Library: Central: 562-567-9900 or Whittwood Branch: 562-567-9950

 

Can I drop off donated materials?

No. At this time, we are not accepting any donations at this time.
